About us
In 1974, Don Busekros founded EWT, Inc. to provide state-of –the-art Wire EDM services to Northern Illinois. Over the last thirty years that company has flourished under Don’s guidance to become one of the premier EDM shops in the country. Don still remains President of EWT, Inc. and is very active in the day-to-day operation of the company. Over the years, EWT added Jig Grinding, Precision Machining, and sales of EDM supplies to the services it offered.
In 1999, Jim Monge joined the company as Executive Vice President and Partner to help Don manage the growing business, as well as to help EWT expand into other services. EWT has been very fortunate to enjoy steady growth over the last thirty years and to still have the privilege of working with many of the same customers and suppliers for the entire thirty years.
In January, 2003 Doug Mason joined EWT in a venture to bring 3D Modeling and High Speed Machining to the smaller Mold and Die shops, much as EWT had done with Wire EDM thirty years earlier. This new venture was named 3DCNC Technologies, LLC and was operated as a separate business from EWT, Inc. This new venture has grown even faster than we had originally thought possible. We have partnered with several excellent suppliers, purchased two new High Speed Machining Centers, added several key employees, and continue to grow.
This year, EWT, Inc. and 3DCNC Technologies, LLC combined assets to form one business unit under the name of EWT/3DCNC, Inc. Doug Mason became a Partner in this new venture and serves as Vice President of Operations. We thank all of our loyal customers and suppliers for helping us reach this pinnacle in our history and we look forward to many more years together. We are also making preparations for our thirtieth anniversary celebration this Fall. We will contact you as more details become available.
